Kuck (pronounced "cook") had a highly successful swimming career in spite of a relatively late entry to the sport. He began swimming in eighth grade and by his senior year of high school had progressed to a national-level swimmer in butterfly and individual medley events. His talent drew the attention of The Ohio State University, where he contributed by scoring points for the team and as a 3-year representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Board. During college, Kuck also played lead guitar for the Campus Crusade band and began competing in triathlons. His triathlon experience includes Olympic distances and the grueling Ironman, and he won the HFP Triathlon Grand Prix Series for his age group in 1998.

As a teen, Kuck became certified with SwimAmerica and has been coaching ever since. His career includes summer league, high school and age group programs of various sizes, as well as supervision of several country clubs. After nine years with Westerville Aquatic Club as the head age group and assistant senior coach, Kuck became the head coach and program coordinator for Dublin Swim Teams in Dublin, Ohio, where he has worked since 2008.

Kuck and his wife, Heather, have four young, active children and enjoy outdoor activity that burns energy. He says he was drawn to SwimMAC because of the club's reputation to challenge athletes and coaches alike to grow and become better as people and athletes. "The mindset of doing things correct not just harder resonates with my coaching style.  I look forward to being challenged and honed by my peers and the athletes I get the privilege to work with," said Kuck.
