Matthew Josa

Matthew Josa

Matthew grew up in Fort Mill, S.C. and swam for SwimMAC during his high school years, contributing to several national age group record-breaking relays. He chose to stay close to home and compete for the growing program at Queens University in Charlotte, a school that is changing the perception of Division II competition in swimming. In the 2014-2015 season, Matt broke multiple conference records, four national records, and walked away with wins in the 100 yard butterfly, the 200 yard individual medley, the 800 yard freestyle relay, the 400 yard medley relay, and the 200 yard medley relay at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. He was named the male Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the Year. Matt has chosen to redshirt the 2015-2016 season at Queens so he can focus solely on swimming and earning a spot on the 2016 U.S. Olympic team.
