Roy Burch

Roy Burch

Roy is an Olympic and national-record holding swimmer from Bermuda. He began swimming at age four for safety reasons, and has gone on to represent Bermuda since 2007 at the FINA World Championships, and at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. His preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games was interrupted in March 2015 by a bi-lateral patella rupture in both knees that required immediate surgery and extensive recovery time. Roy returned to competition at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Minneapolis in November 2015 and is working toward the Bermuda Olympic Association standard to qualify for the 2016 team. Roy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts, with concentrations in marketing, business and management. He has a very active social media presence and is a contributor to the SwimMAC Team Elite Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as the sole editor of the SwimMAC Elite Instagram account. Roy and his wife, Lauren, met while swimming together in college and have two children, Serena and Xavier.
