Originally from Parma, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, Kasl started swimming at the age of nine and continued his career through three years of college. He discovered his love of coaching while at Eastern Michigan, where he began his career as a student-assistant under Peter Linn during his senior year. Kasl moved on to Lake Shore Swim Club where he served as the head coach from 1995-2002 while also leading the Rocky River High School team.

Going into his 14th year with SwimMAC, Kasl has worked with swimmers at a variety of levels including those who have been successful at the state, sectional, junior national and national levels, as well as athletes that have represented Team USA on the National Junior Team. He is currently the South Dolphin Division Lead and the Lead Coach for South Dolphin 1. In addition to his coaching duties, Kasl oversees the Latin facility and management of the south region while working with Coach Terry Fritch and Coach Pam Swander on the overall direction of the program.

"The best thing about being a SwimMAC coach is the opportunity to be around a lot of enthusiastic people (coaches, swimmers, parents, etc.) who are willing to work hard to be the best program we are capable of," Kasl said.
