Wesley grew up in Rockwell, NC where he started swimming competitively the summer prior to his freshman year of high school, where he swam for the East Rowan Mustangs. After graduating high school he started attending The University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he joined their club team. This was a peer lead team, where he quickly rose in leadership, and began writing practice sets and organizing the team. He also was elected as team treasurer and secretary during his time on the team.

Wesley started his coaching career with MAC as an assistant to North Dolphin 3 and quickly became involved with many other groups and programs, including Dolphin 1 & 2, Marlin 1, 2, & 3, Swim School, JSL and the Home School program. Wesley said when asked about his coaching career, “I started coaching part time while finishing my graduate certificate, as I thought it would be a fun job, but since then, it has turned into a passion of mine. I love seeing the kids learn and develop skills, techniques and the same love for the water and swimming that I have. Seeing the kids reach their goals and grow from season to season is such a rewarding feeling!” “Working with Swim MAC has been a great experience and I am so thankful for this opportunity I have be given. Everyday has been a learning experience and I have grown so much as a person, swimmer, and a coach thanks to the opportunities I have had.”
